A heartfelt thanks to the New York Football Giants for making my day and handing the New England Patriots a well deserved loss in the Super Bowl. Now maybe all those smug, douchebag Pats fans who did nothing but whine and trash talk online all season will finally shut up (probably not). Bellicheck's post game interview was priceless. He probably said three words total.
Blogs
....and we're back
some ass used an unknown exploit in my blog software to login and delete all my log entries. luckily I had most of them backed up in one form or another, so I was able to recreate them.
i've also switched to using drupal rather than my old homegrown blog app as I don't have time to maintain the code anymore.
You've probably noticed the facelift as well. I'll be tweaking things from time to time, so please bear with me during this transition.
twitter anyone?
I've added in my twitter feed to what gets posted here on the front page. I just sarted using twitter last week and it seems like a nice way to post short, random stuff during the day. This will also post it to my blog, so hopefully this will get updated a little more often...

Court to SCO: suck it!
Court Rules: Novell owns the UNIX and UnixWare copyrights! Novell has right to waive!: Hot off the presses: Judge Dale Kimball has issued a 102-page ruling [PDF] on the numerous summary judgment motions in SCO v. Novell. Here is what matters most:
- [T]he court concludes that Novell is the owner of the UNIX and UnixWare Copyrights.
That's Aaaaall, Folks! The court also ruled that "SCO is obligated to recognize Novell's waiver of SCO's claims against IBM and Sequent". That's the ball game. There are a couple of loose ends, but the big picture is, SCO lost. Oh, and it owes Novell a lot of money from the Microsoft and Sun licenses.
{from Groklaw}
wow, its only taken 4 years for the courts to decide what we knew was going to happen in 2003. At least they got it right. This is the beginning of the end of SCO. They now Novell more money than what their company is worth!

The new Tacoma Narrows Bridge opened today. Yay for no more traffic, BOO for the toll we have to pay every time we cross over to Tacoma. ...
I finally got my copy of PHP in Action, a book I helped review while it was in its draft stages. I only saw a few chapters and wasn't real impressed with it, but after seeing the finished product, I plan on reading it cover to cover. I may post a full review once I'm done. I did get a mention in the acknowledgments which was a pleasant surprise. ...

Kieran picked half the keys off my laptop yesterday, so now my space bar only works if I press it hard enough and one Alt key is sort of stuck down. 3 year olds and laptops don't mix. I just hope the new one doesn't have an affinity for computers.....
Red vs Blue is almost over
Red vs Blue to end: Cory Doctorow: Red vs. Blue, the first and funniest long-running machinima series, is about to publish its grand finale, a 100th episode with a twist ending. Red vs. Blue has been running since April 1, 2003, a single hilarious storyline about the two rival armies in the video game Halo.
Having labored on the series for four years, Red vs. Blue creator Michael "Burnie" Burns, who remains the series' writer, editor, director and lead voice talent, wants to make sure fans aren't let down.
The 15-minute final episode will be "the biggest one we've ever done," says Burns, "but The Sopranos stole our ending, so we had to change it completely..."
"We didn't even know what machinima was," says Burns. "We played a ton of Halo at LAN parties because Xbox Live didn't exist yet. The humor of us yelling across the room led to Red vs. Blue.."

I've been watching sine the beginning. Hard to believe its been 100 episodes already. Probably one of the funniest things I've watched in a long time. Too bad it has to end.....sniff
